Instructions for Authors
ANTEM contributions are formatted as an IEEE summary paper, submitted in the IEEE standard two-column format. Papers must be maximum two pages in length, including text, references, and figures. Although the template is shown as three pages – the maximum is two pages total length.
Submissions must meet IEEE Xplore specifications, including embedding of all fonts into the PDF file. Only the designated contact author will receive an (automated) acknowledgment of the submission.
The format of all submissions is PDF and must be created according to IEEE specifications. As per the instructions please use PDF eXpress to create your Xplore compliant submission. Papers will be reviewed by at least three referees for novelty, technical merit and content and notice of acceptance/rejection will be emailed to the corresponding author. Accepted papers must be remotely presented at the conference by one of the author(s). Further details and information on paper presentation will be posted at a later date.
ANTEM 2021 is a full IEEE event so your final paper is planned to be included in IEEE Xplore for archival value after the conference. However, IEEE reserves the right to exclude an accepted paper from inclusion in IEEE Xplore if it is not presented at the conference.
To be published in the IEEE ANTEM 2021 Conference Proceedings and to be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore and other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the Author rate and the paper must be presented virtually by one of the authors.
Authors are invited to submit their full paper(s) electronically through the online submission link:
STEPS TO CREATE YOUR PAPER:
- Prepare your final paper using the IEEE double-column US letter style format using IEEE Conference Proceeding templates available at: (although the template is 3 pages in length the maximum for the conference submission is 2 pages in length).
https://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html- Please note that in addition to the corrections proposed by reviewers, only minor changes to the title and/or abstract may be accepted. Changes to author list are NOT allowed.
- For IEEEtran class in LaTeX, use the following as the first line in your LaTeX source file: \documentclass[10pt, conference]{IEEEtran}
- Note that with IEEE conferences, the author affiliation is listed under the author’s name, unlike IEEE transactions.
- Do not add any page numbering, header or footer (other than the copyright info discussed below).
- Proofread your source document thoroughly to confirm that it will require no revision (it is highly recommended that you do this BEFORE going to IEEE PDF eXpress). The following page provides access to free MS Word and LaTeX templates MS Word and LaTeX templates. https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html
- IEEE is the copyright holder, and all authors, which intend on publishing in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library are required to provide a transfer of copyright. The correct copyright clearance code notice must be added to the bottom of the first page of your paper before creating your PDF, you must choose one of the four listed below.
- For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is: U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright
- For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is: 978-1-6654-0335-1/21/$31.00 ©2021 Crown
- For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is: 978-1-6654-0335-1/21/$31.00 ©2021 European Union
- For all other papers the copyright notice is: 978-1-6654-0335-1/21/$31.00 ©2021 IEEE
Latex users can add the following lines just before the \begin{document} statement for the copyright notice to show up (shown below as an example for the fourth case above):
\IEEEoverridecommandlockouts
\IEEEpubid{\makebox[\columnwidth]{978-1-6654-0335-1/21/\$31.00~\copyright{}2021 IEEE \hfill} \hspace{\columnsep}\makebox[\columnwidth]{ }}
MS Word users can use: ‘Insert’ → ‘Text box’, insert the appropriate copyright notice in the text box, and place the box (without border) at the bottom left on the first page.
- Authors are required to use IEEE PDF eXpress to check if their final PDF file is Xplore-compliant. Papers that are not compliant will not be included in the proceedings nor published. The PDF eXpress site can also be used to convert source files into an IEEE Xplore-compliant PDF file (e.g., for LaTeX users, create a ZIP file that includes DVI and EPS figure files all together, and then upload the ZIP file for the system to convert into a compliant PDF file; for MS Word users, upload the Word file and let it convert and return a compliant PDF file).
- Any changes made to a PDF after IEEE PDF eXpress Plus conversion or PDF checking may invalidate Xplore compatibility. This includes headers, page numbers, copyright notice, watermarks, etc. If any of these elements are desired, they should be added to the document before the PDF is created.
IEEE Xplore requirement is for a PDF to provide a unified and consistent format for the IEEE electronic archives. All conference articles submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore, which is the case of this symposium, must adhere to the IEEE Xplore PDF specification for compatibility.
Go to IEEE PDF eXpress site: https://www.pdf-express.org
First-time users should do the following:
- Select the New Users – Click Here link.
- Enter the following:
- 51107X for the Conference ID
- your email address
- a password
- Continue to enter information as prompted.
- Do NOT use ‘Approve for collection’, if requested. The validated PDF obtained from PDF eXpress is the file that you must upload as a final version. It includes a label in the PDF metadata that certifies the compatibility with IEEE Xplore.
- An Online confirmation will be displayed and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.
Previous users of PDF eXpress need to follow the above steps, but should enter the same password that was used for previous conferences. Verify that your contact information is valid.
